A Gruffalo Hunt in Fair Oak, Hampshire

It was a rather cold and grey Saturday afternoon when I met this very modern ‘blended’ family for a photoshoot in the woods in Fair Oak, Hampshire. However as soon as the Lucy, Kobi, Bradley and Thia (aged between 3 and 8) bundled out of the car, they were like little rays of sunshine bouncing around between the trees!

We had a wonderful time Gruffalo hunting, climbing trees and generally exploring as I ran around like a crazy person to capture all the fun being had! I was fully expecting a session with 4 children to be like herding cats, but these 4 were a total delight! They were kind, polite and really respectful towards each other. We got a great mix of posed photos of the family and more candid shots when the children were let loose to play and really show their individual personalities.

I really admired Lucy and Matt, not only as bringing together an incredible ‘blended’ family who appear to love and respect each other as if they were born as siblings, but in addition to their ‘day jobs’  and as a response to Bradley, Matt’s son, being diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, they also run a charity; ‘Caden’s Fight’. This charity fundraises to support the Cystic Fibrosis unit at Southampton General  Hospital and also the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Please take the time to have a look at the website and donate if you can.
